Happy 4th of July 2026!
We had a VERY good time for our annual 4th of July Picnic, despite the heat. 24 brave MRC faithful came to our celebration. There was lots of good food, flying and fellowship!
This is a smaller crowd than normal, but an excellent turnout considering the extreme
heat. And speaking of extreme heat, our Chef, Pat Drake, not only had to deal with the heat of the day, but also had to cope with the heat of the grill. Nevertheless, she and her helpers prepared an excellent lunch. We have a good assortment of sides, desserts and fruit. No one left hungry. Pat and her helpers also cleaned up everything after us men. THANK YOU Pat!!!

Despite the heat, it was an excellent day for flying. Jeff mowed a beautiful field and God provided us with a beautiful sky to fly in!
And to top it all off, Dewey came at the end and flew his HUGE MiG-15. I'm talking HUGE. It was a very impressive airshow. Maybe Dewey will bring it to our closing day picnic in October so more people can enjoy its beauty and his flying skill.
Looks like next week will be a bit cooler. I look forward to flying with you in more enjoyable conditions.
